Sea Pottery Blue Necklace Endless Chain 28” Sterling Silver
Endless Swirls! Scottish black sea pottery with lovely patterns make an outstanding necklace that you will not find a second one of! The pattern is the 1000 pattern, made by the local Methven pottery in Kirkcaldy, where these pieces were found in the beach. The Methven pottery discarded their misfired pottery on the beach between 1850-1930.
Sea pottery is double drilled and then adorned with sterling silver bails and forms an overall 28” length sterling silver chain. Please note - there is no clasp, the necklace is designed to go over the head!
SIZE
Center piece is approx 4cm long sea pottery pendants on 28” sterling silver chain in total
Where does this pottery come from?
There is a river that runs into the North Sea where over 100 years ago 4 potteries stood - the river sings, when the pottery pieces make their way out to Sea... a wonderful sound, like bells...this is where these pieces are from.
Found on the east coast of Scotland. Tumbled since Victorian times and now you can own a little piece of Scotland! Sea glass-pottery found by me.
